A new Climate Central study shows Florida is most at risk of "severe coastal flooding" by 2050. Insurance Information Institute's Mark Friedlander says this shouldn't have a direct impact on your insurance since flood risk does not impact your property insurance/windstorm coverage which is covered by a separate flood insurance policy. Colorado State University is out with its first hurricane forecast today ahead of the 2025 Atlantic season starting June 1st. Colorado State University forecasters say the upcoming 2025 hurricane season would be above average with four major hurricanes out of nine hurricanes among 17 named storms. The researchers predict activity about 125% above the average for tropical storms between 1991 and 2020. The 2024 hurricane season saw tropical storm activity at 130% above the average for those years.
